ABOUT US  us

Nth Degree Software, Inc. develops software products that aid individuals, teams and entire companies “think” more effectively and productively.  The company was founded in 1999 on the vision that:  Knowledge-workers need ‘thinking productivity’

tools the same as Manual-workers need ‘physical productivity’ tools.  Our flagship product, MindSights™, is such a Thinkware tool. It offers a revolutionary approach for improving individual thinking productivity and harnessing the collective intelligence of teams. It works by providing individuals or teams with what we call a ‘facilitated thinking’ environment. This software environment emulates a human facilitator. It essentially provides intellectual guidance and support similar to the way consultants, trainers and facilitators function.

The Gartner IT research group said:  “Facilitated Thinking Environments is a BIG idea, one the world needs!” It is without peer … Not Oracle, SAP nor even Microsoft is prepared to enable better knowledge-worker thinking.

What people are saying

“Thinklets are a very powerful concept. They allow the user to break down their thinking processes into component parts. You’ve used the “thinklet” concept as your organizing tool for the literature. The literature is helpful to the degree the practitioner can connect it to the problem/question at hand.  The “thinklet” is the connector. Now we can readily link to resources to assist in the process of thinking through, preparing for, and facilitating of the problems solving process. Thank you.”

Professor Dan Folkman – Chair for the Center for Urban Community Development,

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee

MindSights provides two fundamental benefits:  1) Provides the user with an array of thinking strategies (processes or frameworks) to organize relevant problem solving information and 2) Provides the user with selectable mind-focusing tools (thinklets) that stimulates creative analysis to augment problem solving and arrive at thoughtful conclusions.”

Professor Frank Groom  - Center for Information and Communication Sciences.

Ball State University

“The most used element of MindSights is Analyze-It. Students in there case study analysis and presentation have used tools like SWOT Analysis,  Deviation Analysis, Cause and Effect, and Gap Analysis. Next semester they will be using FMEA and others. Their comments have been very favorable. MBA and several other majors could benefit from this great tool.”

Professor Frank Chelko – Quality Manufacturing Management

Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University

“Basically, it is 10,000 pages of intellectual property that Dennis has captured and made very accessible to people who are involved in facilitation, planning meetings and making decisions, so it has a wide range of applications and customers,” said Robert Beard, co-director of the San Diego-based Strategic Solutions Center for Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), an employee-owned research and engineering firm. “I found it a very good source for the kinds of information I need to do facilitation and meeting planning.”

“While working with students in direct instruction, MindSights enables us to provide a framework for the students and the teachers to organize their thoughts for their learning and investigation,” said Tim Gavigan, executive director for CESA #1. “MindSights is a template for a student who is learning to do critical thinking, project management, to hold meetings, organize themselves for meetings, it is very helpful in that arena.”

He has packaged the most complete set of processes I've ever seen anybody package in my life - I can't believe anybody has done this," said Luis Solis, president and chief executive officer of Group Systems Corp. in Boulder, Colo.

Group Systems, a private company that markets collaborative thinking software to help groups work more productively in real-time, anonymous Internet or face-to-face sessions, is considering using Heindl's software in its products, Solis said.
