With an individual brush stroke for every blade of grass, E. Hagert Heindl’s paintings took many many long hours to create. Sometimes well over 100 hours for one painting.

 

Her meticulous attention to detail began with a pencil drawing of each of her paintings. After the drawing was in her eyes perfect, she would chalk the back and then redraw it onto the final canvas before painting.

 

These pencil drawings are in their own right
